Matanzas

4th February 2020

Chris took us on the local bus to the port town of Matanzas for the day. Eva was already there to study and he was looking for a light bulb.

Matanzas is called the City of bridges because of the 17 bridges crossing its three rivers. Back in the 18th and 19th century the city was know as the Athens of Cuba because it was a literary and musical hub, it still is a very arty place.
We met up with Eva on Calle Narvaez promenade along the San Juan river for lunch and the usual cocktails.  It was a fabulous day even though Chris's quest to find a light bulb was unsuccessful.
