Wabash - Overnight in the closed Wabash City RV Park

Currently sitting in the cab of the Ram plugged in to the small built in inverter as the computer is flat.  All excited again as we pickup the caravan (travel trailer) tomorrow.  We had a quick sticky beak at the dealership this afternoon and found the one we think is ours before buying some more equipment at Walmart and dinner at Taco Bell.

Today we travelled from Morris to Wabash.  We overnighted in the truck (travel) stop and we couldn't get going before 11am.  The kids are taking a long time to get onto US time.  Laura was still awake at midnight last night.  Then later in the night she got booted out of the shared bed with Johanna and joined us for the rest of the night in the cabover.  We are far from setup yet and have been moving fast.  It doesn't seem like that far on the map but it is a long way on the road.

The truck is really nice.  When you put your foot down a bit a throaty growl escapes and you move like a car.  The wind area is significant so you need to concentrate when a truck passes as the first wall pushes you over and then the suction pulls you back in at the end.  I haven't done any suspension mods and really it handles the weight pretty well.  It dropped about 3 inches - basically just pushed the springs down to the start of the over-rides.

  1. Hi Derek My first stop at your blog site since you departed. Good to hear you, the lovely Sally and the kids are finding your feet there is the US. Great news to hear the smooth delivery of the truck and camper. Goes to prove planning pays off! Well done. Caravan next? We all survived the Great Ocean Walk and enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to hearing more on your travels. Travel safe and by for now. Graham
