La Penita RV park

We have settled in to the RV park at La Penita for a week of much needed R & R for Sally and myself and exams for the kids after a bit of hustle and bustle to get here.  We had to drive into the outskirts of  Guadalajara to get diesel exhaust fluid.  I had read that it was advisable to take spare fluid with you from old blog posts however I thought that major truck stations would carry it as there are now thousands of trucks requiring it.  I was wrong.  The Ram (now called fatso) will only run at 5 miles / hr if it runs out so the consequences of running out were fairly dire.  As it is not required for vehicles in Mexico nobody had any idea what I was talking about at Gas stations and it doesn't translate well on Google either.  After some research we eventually found an Autozone shop in Guadalajara the second biggest city in Mexico that carried it and was sort of on our route.  From one extreme to another - if it isn't market centres it's big cities.  Long stressful drive through the city and then down the mountains from 8,000 feet to sea level thankfully without incident but happy to finish.

Now sitting on our deck overlooking the ocean.  Laura has a new friend from a family even bigger than ours.  They have driven down from Canada with a 43' 5th wheel and a Kenworth truck.  Six kids so they need it.  Erin the Mum is a school teacher and has offered to supervise Mack's exams so that is a relief.

Razor Ride

Sally is off "RZRing" today with Carol.  These are hotted up ATV's that the RV park locals go off in to the hills with.  Should be fun.

It was fun, thanks heaps Carol.
