Just a quick note for friends and family. We made it. We have at least 12 months to do our trip. No surprises of note although lots of security and a few odd looks when we told security, immigration how long we wanted to stay.
Sounds good….terrible that you had to eat that overseas food like an apple pie or whatever it was…how dreadful you have to get used to that sort of stuff….

Ah, US customs – not the friendliest bunch!
Actually at the immigration control they were quite nice. The first officer had to get the supervisor to authorise more than 6 months. He tried to give us the two years we requested however it was rejected by the system so he could only give us the 364 days. All the others have been a little shocked / weird when we have said we wanted to stay two years.

Thought the food was apple pie but it was PANCAKES…you will just have to get used to that food over there. They tell me after about a month or so you can eat it ok. Until then you will just have to force it down and try to enjoy it. Maybe you could wash ti down with a cup of tea????? love mum
