Sacramento and San Francisco

Sacramento, California

The main reason for going to Sacramento was to catch up with Christine.  We met at work many years ago and did a trip to the USA together.  First time we have seen each other in  twenty something years. You haven't changed a bit Christine you are just the same as I remember you. Great city worth the stop.

San Francisco

A few days in the splendid city of  San Francisco to have a look around and pick up Johanna's friend Adam. It is a fabulous city but if you are short of time I would forget about riding on the cable car, we wasted too  much time queueing to get on, but if you are interested in cable cars go to the museum where you can see the engines and winding wheels that pull the cables. Downstairs is a viewing area of the large sheaves and cable lines entering the building through the channel under the street.

Six Flags

I don’t know why kids like these rides so much, even when I was a kid I would ride until I spewed but now that I am older and wiser I know my limits, which is about four rides. The kids went on all of them some more than once. The morning queues were ridiculous but by the end of the day they got a lot shorter. The park also has animals, butterflies and shark tank which the kids had no interest in seeing. Walking back to our camper I noticed the random splashes of hot dog in the car park and felt I was not the only one who thought that the rides like batman would be better named Barfman.

We camped in their car park for the night before taking off to Napa.
