St Josephs Steakhouse. The best steak I have had since Scotland. I had one beautiful steak in Scotland that all steaks have been compared to ever since. Well tonight I had an equivalent. Maybe even better. It was melt in the mouth, flavoursome and huge. Sally suggested we should save some for Lucy. I suggested …

St Joseph, Missouri – Picking up the Truck
As we taxied down the runway in Kansas City I received a text from the dealers drivers that they were at a local shop awaiting my call to pick us up. We had a little hiccup at the airport when Sally left the bag containing our passports on the plane after we disembarked however once …

Lucy the Dog is Here
Lucy is here. We had a bit of a run around between customs and quarantine but Lucy was fine and very pleased to see us. Again the customs officer was in total disbelief that we were staying 12 months. He had to check the visa to confirm. After a sleep (she was a bit jet …
We made it to Hawaii
Just a quick note for friends and family. We made it. We have at least 12 months to do our trip. No surprises of note although lots of security and a few odd looks when we told security, immigration how long we wanted to stay.
We Bought a Truck
Success at last. After weeks of trying to get quotes I have finally found our truck. Earlier in the year I was told not to order before September, so I got some quotes from dealers in Oregon and was satisfied that they would confirm new pricing in September and order my truck. Then we decided …
My Old Truck is Gone
Last photos of my previous pride and joy. It was very sad to see her go but I know the new owners are going to take good care of her. They have plans to trick her up as they are show people with three kids. I know my kids loved her and I am sure …
Change of plans
Well the plans have been thrown into disarray again. The Rockwood 2509s Caravan we planned to purchase changed from the 2018 to the 2019 model and out went the outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower and the steps became one piece that fold up in the door. Oh and also $2,500 dearer. After scouring the country I …
Last photo of the Viscount
Last photo of the old van before her retirement. She copped a bent chassis rail somewhere on the last trip that wasn’t worth repairing and was written off by insurance. I saw her on the tilt tray on the way to the Brisbane auctions on my way back from having the truck serviced. I …
Sydney
To get a visa longer than three months an interview at the embassy is required. For us this meant a trip to Sydney. The interview was fairly basic but the security was very tight. The trip also allowed for sightseeing and catching up with friends Sally hasn’t seen in years.
