Lake Superior, Ontario, Canada

Thunder Bay, first stop on the Lake. We free camped around the Lake it was so quiet and peaceful, hardly anyone around.
Terrace Bay beach. While we were there the Historical Interpreters, like rangers, were setting up for the evenings lesson on the artists that used to meet and paint in the area called the group of seven. They invited us to join them for a talk about the artist then the girls and I got to paint the landscape, equipment supplied but the parks for a small fee. It was all about being mindful of your surroundings, the sky and beautiful water rather than producing a masterpiece. A lovely relaxing evening.
The group of Seven were landscape painters that formed in the 1920, they were separated during the war but once it was over they got back together and began to travel throughout Ontario. They sketched landscapes and developed different techniques to better their art. The group was greatly influenced by European Impressionism.

Wawa Bay, Lake Superior, Canada

Wawa Bay, another night camped on the lake, beautiful beach and sunsets. On this beach there was an easel and stool to encourage painters as well as an easel and stool placed there permanently to recognised the group of seven. To be honest I could not believe the wooden easel and stool were still there and had not been used for firewood by some bogan. Canadians really are the nicest people.
