Cedar Falls, Iowa - Picking up the Camper
We got into Cedar Falls fairly late in the afternoon and really just got some dinner at the local Buffalo Wings Bar and went to bed at the local Inn. It rained for a fair portion of the drive and we were glad we bagged all our gear in oversized garbage bags to keep it dry. The agriculture is amazing. Just miles and miles and miles of farmland. Regular snow dusted fields and iced dams, lakes and rivers.
Rex was true to his word and the Truck Camper was fully prepped and ready for us to take delivery first thing Friday morning. We left the kids at the Inn to fend for themselves for the day and went out to North Star Truck Campers by 9am. Rex had the tie downs and a bed mat on hand and after a tour of the camper proceeded to install the camper for us. Everything was as documented and all went smoothly. We removed the reversing camera from the tailgate as it is linked to the steering wheel and has guidance lines that move with the steering wheel. Any help with reversing this beast is not a bad thing. By 1pm we were all loaded and went to give the kids the first viewing - we have some photos of this however they haven't been uploaded yet.
Sally and I decided to spend the first night in the camper at the Inn so that any problems might be able to be fixed before we left Cedar Falls. The first night was fine and we think we will be very happy. We did find a leak in the pipe leading to the toilet however North Star Campers aren't open on the weekend so we weren't able to reach them. We left on Saturday so a plumbing job for me later.
